#maybe he saw a lot of his father in Callaghan

And you can't tell me that Obake wasn't close with their mom, she was probably his favourite (older?) sister (when you don't really have a social life you tend to bond with the closest person that actually gets you), so when she died he was probably even more closed off then he was before and was probably a little cold to other family members (if he wasn't already he probably got colder) and only really bonded with Hiro because he saw himself a lot in the boy, but Tadashi was the weird one out (his and Obake's life view are different, and very much the same all at the same time), and then him blaming Obake for their parents dying (kids can be VERY vocal) probably didn't help their relationship much (it probably hurt Obake more hearing those words, that he never even really cared about her, like she wasn't the one person in the world he could count on).
Tadashi probably also grew up thinking that everyone was on Obake's side, even Aunt Cass, and kept his distance from anyone who wasn't his brother and occasionally Aunt.
I feel like Tadashi used to disappear for days on end, making Cass worry to the point that Obake had to do something (she is not a woman of empty threats), and even though Tadashi and Hiro are close, I feel like there's also a big divide between them.
A lot of the times Hiro would get angry that Tadashi was so cold and stand offish towards their uncle that he would start blaming and accusing Tadashi of anything that he thinks would hurt (which is barely anything really) until he goes to far and uses the death of their parents (he doesn't really know him that well anyways he's kind of attached from the fact that they are dead) and blames Tadashi for it like Tadashi blames Obake, and in those moments he sort of regrets it when he sees the visible hurt on Tadashi's face (which, ow, that kinda hurt me to imagine), but it only lasts for a second before he closes off again and walks away (probably to let his frustrations out somewhere else so as not to yell at Hiro) and Hiro tells Obake about it, who just brushes it off and tells Hiro that "Your brother's just being dramatic, he'll get over it, he always does".
Aunt Cass is like the glue that's trying to keep them together, but she knows she isn't enough anymore. When they were younger it was easier, but now?
Been thinking and….
AU where Cass and Obake are siblings
So just picture her raising her nephews with occasional chaotic input from their ‘weird uncle Bob’
Whom she doesn’t DARE let babysit anymore because 1) he never says no and 2) he also happily enables the chaos
And totally lets the boys play with the chainsaw
Forget the fact that she doesn’t know WHERE it came from, for some reason they have one now
Also Obake keeps letting Hiro go on ‘supervised visits’ to Good Luck Alley
And of all his ‘friends’ Felony Carl is honestly the only one she trusts to take care of kids despite being called ‘Felony’ Carl
Felony Carl is forever the mom friend no matter what situation I’m sorry I don’t make the rules
Basically Obake and Cass have the same sibling dynamic that Jon and Evvie do in The Mummy
“You lied to me!”
“So? I lie to everyone!”
“I’m your sister!”
“That just makes you more gullible!”
They take the mickey out of each other Cass never lets him forget about that time he blew up his college and Obake never lets her forget the time she stabbed a dude
“It was an ACCIDENT”
And yet they’re also ride-or-die and would totally help each other hide the body
The boys’ mom was the responsible one so basically it’s two feral gremlins trying to raise two feral gremlins
Hiro declares revenge on someone and Obake helps him brainstorm
Hiro graduates at thirteen and everyone in the school system is glad to see the back end of him AND his uncle
Tadashi graduated early too you don’t have a supergenius for a relative AND bad math grades
Hiro just graduated earlier because he vibes more with Obake
Obake and Cass are both aware of the family resemblance and have concerns
Cass more than Obake, Obake is more like Mushu on our little baby’s all grown up and destroying people
Tadashi is AGGRESSIVELY nice and responsible in an attempt to counterbalance his uncle
Who likes to say that SFIT wasn’t the same since he left
Cass: that’s what being reduced to rubble generally does, yes
Obake: do you MIND???
Yes she’s aware her brother is a supervillain but she’d like to keep the boys from knowing
So basically Tadashi and Hiro are like the youngest members of a crime syndicate without being aware of it
They secretly suspect
So do Tadashi’s friends
Wait what do you mean your weird uncle is a scary crime boss?
Also Cass has informed Obake that he has to give her at least twenty-four hours’ notice before he does anything catastrophic
Obake: define catastrophic
Cass: blowing up the city, reversing street signs, stealing people’s left shoes…basically stop and ask yourself ‘will this cause Cass to punch me’ and if the answer’s ‘yes’ don’t do it
Obake: if I asked myself that I’d never get anything done
Basically I want chaos sibs who are suddenly responsible for small humans and have no idea how to go about that
If we can’t call her Cass Hamada y’all’d best be prepared for the consequences
#bh6#big hero 6#big hero 6 the series#big hero six#big hero six the series#hiro hamada#Tadashi Hamada#obake#aunt cass#au#sibling au#that AU where Obake and Cass are siblings#the Aken/Hamada Collective#oh and how ADORABLE would Tadashi look in one of those cute sweaters#the super sweet looking ones with the cats on it#he likes it cuz it's warm and the closest thing the physical/non-physical contact he can get#ok#trauma time#here's the question I've been meaning to ask#what about the SFIT fire? What about Tadashi getting caught in it?#I have a theory that he got very close to Callaghan and saw him as a parental figure#they bonded over science and talked a lot over the past (Tadashi cherry picking his words of course)#maybe he saw a lot of his father in Callaghan#so would he run into the fire for someone who reminded him of his dad?and how would his reaction be to finding out about Callaghan?#oooh boy it really is starting to get dark

A Lily for You - A BH6 Theory
Hello folks! So, with the announcement that the third season is coming out this summer, probably in August, I thought it could bring some theory and opinions about a character that might appear and have a relevant role in the third season.
It all starts in the episode that destroyed my heart, City of Monsters; and with the medical character that appeared in part 1:
Lily. (yes, she has a name.)
Lily is the person who helped Tadashi in programming the Baymax medical matrix and is responsible for all medical knowledge of the robot. If Tadashi is the father of the health assistant, Lily would be the mother.
Here the video that shows the exact part that she appears. ( begin in 0:17)
youtube
At first I thought her appearance was something unique and just a cute scene that would make us emotional, after all it was not even mentioned as she was called.
Then she gets a name in the credits.
And then I was intrigued.
If it were a single appearance, we wouldn’t get a name on the credits, just doctor or something, but she have a name! Which made me think that we would see her again. But on second thought, Lily being who she is, she wouldn't show up just once.
"What?" You ask. Let's look at the facts and what they imply:
Lily is technically the co-creator of Baymax. Tadashi did the whole project, and deserves all the glory for persistence and sleepless nights, and being able to put everything in order in a fluffy and perfect machine. But man, Lily has a fair share in creating Baymax! All his medical knowledge was given by her and that was vital in the schedule. Tadashi recognized that. If we were to put it on labels, Lily gave Baymax's heart while Tadashi gave conscience and body. And what gives it more weight, in my opinion? Maybe Lily is the only one who has information about Baymax that even Hiro doesn't have, maybe some of the raw material or something. And thinking more about it, Lily is theoretically the only person who participated in the creation of Baymax who is still alive, probally. It is not known whether she stayed long during the original project and how big her part was in programming and knowledge. But, Tadashi took 84 test until Baymax is perfect for use. And you don't build a matrix from scratch in a few days, which takes me ...
Lily and Tadashi. They were friends. From what the video shows, Lily was the only source of medical information and that certainly must have required hours of research and many times she would have to go to SFIT to check if the information was being performed correctly and all that jazz. And that alone raises several questions: was she a student at SFIT? Is there a medical course at SFIT? If the answer was no, how the hell did she know Tadashi? What led him to decide that she would be a good help in building Baymax? How did she get into SFIT if she is not a student, special pass or something? Did Callaghan - and now Grandville - know her? Do the other gang members know her, since she would go to the lab often? Hiro obviously didn't know her due to his reaction to thinking that his brother had done everything himself, but if the others did, why didn't they say anything? Did Aunt Cass know her? What catches me every time is that they didn't seem to be just friends, but close friends. Unlike what Karmi and Hiro did, Baymax took more than one night to be mafe, which implies that they worked a lot together. From what she is wearing, Lily appears to be someone in her years of residence assuming that she is around Tadashi's age, and, consequently, in the final year of her course. And such a person is very busy; but there she was helping and leaving Baymax more than a giant, talking balloon. And if you see the video above, despite the little interaction the body language of both shows comfort and nonchalance. We have nicknames, we have praise, we have literal closeness and relaxation. These two got along well, very well, and I wanna know more. (And it's probably just me, but doesn't their interaction kinda seem a little... flirtatious? Just saying,..)
Lily as a character and its impact on the plot. If I'm right and if Lily really does become a relevant character, it will bring several points: First, it will have an emotional impact for Hiro: Lily would be Tadashi's first friend who is not his friend. A strange person who apparently has a personal imprint on his brother's greatest work. How would he see her? What would make Hiro see her? Maybe Baymax was too damaged? Maybe an accident? Maybe she'll become a campus doctor since - assuming she's Tadashi's age - she would have graduated and would work there?(!) Second, the impact on Baymax: Baymax had little time with Tadashi, but seems to value him very much as his friend's brother and perhaps even as a creator. But, what would he feel about Lily? Baymax knows that it had a bearing on her upbringing and nothing suggests that they have seen each other again. What would happen if they saw each other? What if he and Hiro have different opinions about her? Would he see you as a co-creator? Third, emotional impact on the team. Everyone in the gang was friends with Tadashi. And if it is true that they did not know Lily, what would it be like to live with her? How would they see it? Of course, not all friends of a common person know each other, but the interaction would be interesting and I can dream. However, all I have said here are guesses in just a few seconds. which brings us to the last topic.
Who Lily can be. Lily doesn't appear much and her first appearance is also the only one. However, as far as we can judge from the video, she seems to be someone kind, helpful and with a great sense of humor. In addition, she seems to be concerned, trustworthy and very intelligent, as Tadashi would certainly not trust anyone to be her source of health knowledge for something so important. As I said, she may appear because she is a new doctor on campus or some other reason. It would be interesting to see her react to Tadashi's death, see more of his younger brother and more about the robot she helped create. Ther than that, my only conclusions about her future and role are, as I always see when I search for a new character, the search for the name. Lily is a name derived from a flower, which reflects the apparent field of action: Health and Biology (in reality she has this and more in common with a certain biotechnology prodigy, but that is the subject for another post). Lilies have both happy and sad meanings. Here's what I found from some sources: Lily can mean purity, passion, motherhood and love. All of them would make sense with the character, Lily seems to be someone who has not made any big mistakes in life and who has always tried to show that she wants to help others (although this may be questionable), besides possibly also being passionate about her own profession and loving everyone enough to wanting to be a doctor. Maternity is ironically correct, since in theory she is the mother of Baymax, and can, like Honey Lemon, have a maternal personality. Finally, the most important meaning is that lilies are a flower of grief. They symbolize the loss, the transience of life and the memory of the innocents who died. Which is both poetic and appropriate. Lily was a friend of Tadashi. It is the only part of the original design, of the original Baymax, that remains. Tadashi died, the other Baymax is on the portal indefinitely. She is the memory. Not to mention that this can be part of her arc, how mourning her friend affects her or how she can help others with it. Or both. Anyway, this analysis has gone on too long and I'm probably like this:
In the end, Lily may not even show up, all I said was that she actually got a name in the credits and her narrative potential. Now I want to know about you, what do you think about Lily and if she has a chance to appear?

A/N: This is for @sgtbxckybxrnes “Movie AU Writing Challenge”. I picked the movie: While You Were Sleeping. I love this movie a lot and was so happy when I saw it on the list. I changed a few things around but still kept most of it as close to the movie as. (including movie dialogue as well!) Feedback is greatly appreciated!
You two drove to Peter’s apartment in silence and when Scott pulled up to the building, he parked quite close to the car in front of him.
When you got out, you noticed this and said, “Um, I think you parked a bit to close to the other car.”
“I had to,” Scott said as he grabbed the handle to open the back of the truck. “We got to unload the furniture.” He paused a moment and smiled at you. “Ready for your surprise?”
He opened the back and your eyes immediately landed on a beautiful rocking chair. You couldn't help but fall in love with it.
“Oh, that is great,” you said. Scott helped you up into the truck and you were so mesmerized by it. “This is so great!”
“You like it?” Scott asked. You nodded. “To bad. Parents bought you the love seat,” he said, pointing to the small couch behind you.
You turned around, a bit embarrassed. “Oh, I’m sorry.”
“Don't be. I made this,” Scott responded, running his fingers across the back of the rocking chair.
“No way. You made this?”
He nodded. “Shocking, isn't it?”
“Can I sit in it?”
He let you and when you made the comment about him going into business, he explained to you about how that was going to be a tricky thing, with him being in his father’s business.
The two of you got the couch out and rolled it up to the door. You got it through and the doorman, who was one of the new guys, stopped Scott before he could get in and asked what apartment they were going to.
“57G,” Scott said.
“Well, I’m sorry sir but guests have to be announced,” the doorman said.
“Uh, well, I’m helping her. I’m with her,” he motioned towards you inside. You were moving the couch towards the stairs and knocked it into the wall making you fall over.
“So?” the doorman said.
“That’s Peter Callaghan’s fiancee,” Scott answered.
“Oh! So sorry, sir!” the doorman exclaimed and opened the door for Scott. “They told me about her, sir,” he told Scott before he went in. “She’s scary.”
“Tell me about it,” Scott said with a smirk.
The two of you got it up to the room and the couch got stuck in the doorway.
“I think it’s wedged,” you said, trying to assess the situation.
“Why don't you step back a bit. I’m gonna try an old trick here.”
“What’s the trick?” you asked.
“Push it really hard,” Scott said.
You smiled and chuckled a bit and waited for Scott to push the couch. “Ok, you can push it.”
“I did.” Yet as you saw, the couch didn't even budge. Not even a centimeter.
“You want me to help you now?” you asked, a small smile still on your face.
“Yea, I guess that would be nice,” he answered.
You got a hold of your end of the couch and on “three”, the couch managed to move but damaged the door frame in the process which made you loose your grip and knock right into a vase that smashed on the floor.
Scott got in the room quick and looked at the dark blue water stain on the floor and said, “I think the couch should go right there.”
You chuckled a bit and the two of you slid the couch over the stain. When you guys walked out of the building, another car had parked right behind Scott’s truck blocking him in.
“Well, goodnight,” you said and started to leave.
“You just gonna leave me here with the truck?” Scott asked.
“Uh, basically, yea.”
“Well, maybe I oughta walk you back.”
“What for?” you asked, a little curious.
“For protection.”
“Oh, no.. no, I’m fine,” you stammered.
“For me. I don't wanna be here by myself,” Scott said with a smile, which made you smile and nod your head towards the way you had to walk.
The two of you talked about your life and your dad and the things you remembered about him, the most important one being about how the two of you always talked about traveling.
“If there were one place in the world, where would you go?” Scott asked.
You didn't even need to think about your answer. Florence flew out of your mouth so fast.
“Ah, Italy,” he said. “Haven't delivered any furniture to Florence yet but I’ve been told it’s nice.” He paused a moment. “I take it you've never been there.”
“No, but I do have,” you started to say, digging through your purse. “My passport.” and pulled out your little passport booklet.
“You have your passport?!” Scott said, chuckling a bit. “That’s great.”
“Yea, just in case I need to leave the country, ya know? I always have it on me.”
Scott started to flip through it and saw no stamps in it, mentioning it to you.
“Yea, well, I haven't gone anywhere yet. But, ya know, planning a trip to Florence really soon, so...”
The two of you continued to talk the rest of the way to your apartment, getting to know each other quite a bit. And when you guys finally got to your apartment, you were actually a bit sad that you had to go in, even though you didn't show it.
“Thank you, I had a good time,” you said, smiling at Scott.
“It’s kinda slippery here,” he said, looking down on the frozen iced sidewalk. “I’ll help ya over.”
He grabbed your hand and started to help you over but started to slip on the ice. You caught him and he stood back up. The two of you were laughing and you said, “Don't take me with you if you fall.”
“Don't worry. I won’t,” he said.
You then slipped and he caught you and pulled you up, your faces inches away from each other. Both of you glanced at each other’s lips and Scott steadied you a bit better. He let go of one of your arms so you could walk but you both then slipped and went down. The both of you started laughing after hearing something tear, which happened to be Scott’s jeans.
“Here, give me your hand,” you said through your laughing and pulled Scott across the ice to the other side where you both stood up and brushed the snow off your clothes. Scott twisted his body to see how bad his pants were.
“Oh, man,” Scott said still laughing. “You got an extra pair of pants in your apartment?”
“If you fit into my pants, I would kill myself.”
He walked you to your door and you said your goodbyes.
“I’ll see you when I see you, then?” you asked.
He nodded and you smiled, going into your apartment building. When you got in and started going up the stairs to your place, Tony saw you and said “Ok, [Y/N], it’s either me or him.”
You didn't even need to think about what you were going to say. “Him,” you answered as you kept walking up the stairs.
Tony stood there, dumbstruck by your answer and was left a bit speechless. You got into your apartment and went over to the window, watching Scott leave while he tried to cover up the tear in his pants. You couldn't help but smile at this and at that moment you knew you were falling in love with him.
The next day you told your boss about the whole ordeal. “You have to tell me what to do.”
“Tell the truth,” he said.
“Ugh, you’re not helping. If I tell Scott that I lied to his family, he’ll never speak to me again. And Ox and Midge and Saul...”
“Saul? Who’s Saul?” he asked, very confused.
“Their next door neighbor. But ya know what? He already knows.” You paused a moment. “You have to tell me what to do.”
“Pull the plug, [Y/N],” he said with a serious look on his face.
Later that night Scott was visiting Peter, “playing” cards with him and trying to have some sort of conversation with him, even if Peter was still in his coma.
“You are unlucky at cards,” Scott said as he looked at both of their hands of cards and saw that his hand beat Peter’s. “But, lucky in love.”
Scott sighed. “You remember when we were in school and I started getting good at poker, coming home with a lot of lunch money and mom always said “Why can't you be more like your brother?”. Ya know what,” he chuckled a bit, “I was alright with that. I had no problems with that because I was proud of you. And I was never envious of anything that you had.” He paused a moment. “Until now.”
Scott put the deck of cards on the table. “I’ll cut the deck. High card gets [Y/N].” He cut the deck in the middle and held up the one half towards Peter and looked at his half, then looked at Peter’s half. “Alright. We’ll go best out of three.”
The next night, you spent it with the family and had a wonderful time. When you were about to leave, Scott opened the door for you and stood there a minute while everyone was saying their goodbyes, Mary said, “Hey look guys, you’re under the mistletoe!”
You and Scott looked up and sure enough, there was a sprig of mistletoe hanging above the door. The two of you looked a little embarrassed while everyone was saying for Scott to kiss you.
“C’mon idiot, kiss her,” Elsie said.
Scott leaned over and kissed you on the cheek. Everyone thought it was so cute and then you said your goodbyes again and walked out, Scott being the one to still stand by the door watching you leave.
The next day Mary and one of her friends visited your token booth to get on the train and you stopped to talk with them a sec. Your co-worker asked who they were and Mary answered saying that you were going to marry her brother, Peter. Your co-worker obviously freaked out about this. The train came and Mary and her friend had to leave, while your co-worker asked out loud if you were pregnant.
You sarcastically answered you were but Mary’s friend heard this before she walked out and thought it was true. She told Mary, who then told the family and Scott immediately went over to your place.
You were getting ready for a New Year’s Eve party and heard a knock on the door.
“Who is it?” you called out.
“Tony Jr.”
“Not here!” you yelled.
“I know that trick! My old man’s got a set of keys.”
“That’s illegal and you know it,” you said as you walked over to the door. You opened it to find Tony smiling, holding a pretty U-shaped display of white flowers.
“They’re beautiful. But I can't accept them.”
His smile disappeared. “I could move in here. I betcha pop would knock 50 bucks off the rent,” he started to stammer.
“I got six months left here.”
“You're just trying to make me feel better,” he said, a frown now appearing on his face. “It’s that other guy, isn't it?”
“What do you mean?” you asked, a small smile starting to form on your lips.
“I see the way you look at him. Like as if you’ve just seen your first Trans Am. Here,” Tony said, handing you the flowers. “You can lay them on my coffin.”
He turned to walk away but you stopped him and gave him a hug. “Thank you.” Little did the two of you know that Scott was at the bottom of the stairs and heard everything.
While Tony was hugging you, he asked, “Are you wearing the black bra?” which made you smack him in the back of the head hard and let go of him. “I love black underwear,” he said as you closed the door.
You walked out of your apartment building holding a bottle of wine and saw Scott standing outside his truck.
“Oh, Scott. What are you doing here?” you asked, quite surprised to see him.
“I, uh...” he started to stammer and noticing the wine he asked, “You’re going to a party?”
“Yea, my friend is having a party tonight.”
“Great. I’ll drive you,” he said and opened up the passenger door of the truck.
“Oh, no. It’s ok. It’s really not that far.”
“No, no. It’s ok,” he said and made you get in. “I move a lot of things with this truck.”
“So, is um, everything ok?” you asked as Scott drove to the house.
“Why? Why wouldn't it be ok?” he responded with a nervousness in his voice.
When you got to your friend’s house, you asked Scott why he was acting weird.
“No, not acting weird.”
“Yes you are,” you said.
Your friend was thrilled to see you and let you and Scott in, thinking he was your fiancee. Your boss was there and asked who that was and you tried to explain your situation as best you could without making yourself sound like a crazy person. But it was no use.
You got some of the punch and Scott came over by you and said, “That’s spiked.”
“Thank goodness.”
“But you shouldn't have any of that.”
“And why not?” you asked.
“Because it’s not good for the baby,” he said out loud, which made your friends all stare at you and made you feel like the ground should have just swallowed you up right then and there.
As you walked away from your friends place after having just been embarrassed by Scott in front of all of them, he tried to apologize to you but all you wanted to do was get back to your place before anything else happened.
“Would you slow down a minute?” he asked, catching up with you.
You stopped and turned around to look at him.
“Look, it was just a misunderstanding. And on top of the Tony Jr. thing...” he started to explain.
You gave him a very puzzled look. “Excuse me?”
“Uh, it’s nothing...”
“No, no, no. There’s no nothing now. What Tony Jr. thing?” you asked.
“The leaning thing.”
You were even more confused. “The leaning thing? Ok.. um. What do you mean by the leaning thing? Because he gave me flowers?”
“And then you leaned.”
“And then I leaned? Ok. How did I lean when I leaned?” you asked him.
“How were you leaning? Leaning’s a lot different than hugging. Hugging’s very different,” Scott started explaining and was moving closer to you. “Hugging that involves arms and hands and leaning is whole bodies moving in, like this.” At this point, he was very close to you, noses almost touching. “Leaning involves wanting... and accepting. Leaning is...” and he quickly glanced at your lips then back at your eyes.
“Hey, [Y/N]. Is this guy bothering you?” Tony Jr. asked, coming over from a party that was across the street.
“No... no. Everything’s fine.”
“Are you sure? Cause it looks like he’s... leaning.”
You snorted at this and Scott turned to thank Tony. You almost thought this somehow was some secret guy “code” that you weren't even aware of.
“I’ll be right over here if you need me,” Tony said, starting to walk back to the party.
“Ok. That you,” you answered.
Pointing to Scott, Tony then added, “I know karate.”
You both watched Tony walk away and then you asked Scott, “So what about the other thing?”
“The other misunderstanding?” Scott asked.
“Yea. Why did you think I was pregnant?”
“Well, I heard Mary say something about it.”
“And you believed her?” you asked.
“I had no reason not to.”
“So, the only reason your brother would want to marry someone like me is if I was pregnant, right?”
Scott shook his head. “No, no. Of course not.”
At this point, you said goodnight to him and started to make your way to the door of your apartment building while Scott tried to explain that you and Peter were a good couple but it just wasn't obvious to the rest of the world.
You turned around and said to him, “Ya know what, Scott. I had a really lousy Christmas. You just managed to kill my New Year’s and if you come back on Easter, you can burn down my apartment.”
That’s where things got a bit heated between the two of you, especially when you brought up the fact that Scott hadn't said anything yet to his father about wanting to get out of the business and start his own. You got into your building and climbed up the stairs with Scott right on your heels.
“Yea, well I know that keeping your family happy is complicated. Would your father be happy knowing you’re sitting in a token booth and planning vacations that you aren't taking?”
You stopped in front of your door and looked down. “No, he wouldn't. You’re right.” You paused a moment. “But you have no idea what it’s like to be alone.”
“You have Peter.”
“I don’t have anybody.” You opened your door and said goodnight to him. You closed it and leaned against it, whispering “Happy New Year” to him.
And at the hospital, a miracle had happened. Peter had finally woken up.
“Ox, they called me and told me to get down here. What happened?” you asked, as you entered the hospital lobby and saw him.
“He’s awake,” Ox said and even though you wanted to make a run for it, he ushered you into the elevator to go to floor where Peter’s room was. “Won’t he be glad to see you?”
You nervously answered “yea” and put on a smile.
The rest of the family was in the room around the bed and the doctor woke him up. He looked at all of them but did a second glance at you.
“Who are you?” he asked.
You thought that was it. This was the end and that you were going to have to confess. Your stomach turned into a ball of knots and your mind was reeling with what to say.
“My god. He’s got amnesia,” Ox said.
You almost felt like fainting. Your secret was still gonna be kept. You couldn't have been more relived. But on the other hand, you just couldn't take it any more and needed to get this pressure off of you.
The doctor explained that Peter could have what’s called “selective amnesia” and it’s quite common for someone that has just come out of a coma.
“Um, guys. I, uh... I have something very important to uh, tell you. I was never...” you started to say but Elsie cut in.
“Pregnant. We know. Scott told us.”
And speak of the devil, Scott came off the elevator. They went back into the room to see Peter but you stopped Saul and he could tell that you wanted the lie to finally end.
“Let me handle it. I’ll take care of it, alright?”
You believed he would and went back over into Peter’s room with the rest. The family tried to see if Peter remembered who you were but he couldn't remember at all, even though he said that you did look somewhat familiar. The doctor then had you guys leave because it was just to much excitement for him.
Scott drove you home and it was silence the whole ride. It wasn't until he parked the truck outside your apartment building that you finally spoke up.
“Scott, you’ve been really great this week.”
He scoffed. “Yea, like when I accused you of lying to everybody. Or when I accused you of having a relationship with Tony Jr. Or when I thought you were pregnant and I announced it to all your friends.”
You wrinkled your nose a bit and chuckled then looked at Scott. “You’ve had a really busy week this week, haven't you?” You paused a moment and took a deep breath. “Look, Scott, I um.. Starting tomorrow, things are probably gonna be kinda different. And I just wanted you to know that you've become a... a really good friend.”
You got out of the truck and Scott whispered the last word that came from your lips: “friend”.
“[Y/N],” he said before you closed the door. You looked at him. “I didn't mean what I said about you and Peter. I think you two are gonna make a really terrific couple and I’m really glad that you won't be alone anymore.”
He gave you a smile, which you returned. You both said goodbye and he drove away while you walked to your apartment.
The next morning, Scott finally got the courage to say something to his dad about the business and wanting to go into his own business, making furniture. He couldn't have been more happy or surprised to hear that his father wasn't mad at him for wanting that. In fact, his father was happy for him. It seemed like things were starting to look up for Scott.
Later that morning at the hospital, the family was trying to have Peter remember who you were. While he was naming off everything else that he could think of, Saul came in and said he wanted to talk to Peter alone.
He let Peter know not only are you his fiancee, you’re his guardian angel that saved his life. “And I want you to do yourself a favor. I want you to look deeply into her eyes and listen with the heart of man who’s just been given a second chance at life. And after two minutes, if you’re not madly in love with her, tell her you wanna break up. But if in the two minutes, you see what rest of us only took seconds to see, you’ll propose to her for the second time and marry her before she has the chance to escape.” He got up and looked at Peter. “Now, she’s coming later so you have time to think about what I said.”
When you came to the hospital later that day, you brought Peter’s box of belongings with you. He was nodding off when you got to his room so you tiptoed in but he woke up when you were just about to set the box on the table.
“[Y/N]!” he said.
“Hi.”
“Hi,” he said, smiling.
You brought over the box and said that you had came to bring his stuff back. You stood there a bit awkwardly after placing the box on the bed and he asked you to sit.
“I uh, saw a picture of you when you saved those three squirrels. Your mom showed me it.”
He joked about it and said that was a long time ago. You guys had some small talk about things, one of them being when you jumped on the tracks to save him and a few other things.
At that moment, Ashley walked into Peter’s apartment building. The doorman stopped her and asked what apartment and being the nasty snob that she is, snapped at him and told him she’s Peter’s fiancee.
He chuckled a bit and said, “You’re not his fiancee.”
She gave him a confused look.
Back at the hospital, Scott came to visit Peter and saw that he was being transferred to the second floor. He asked the nurse if he could steer Peter to the elevator and the nurse said that would be fine. When they got out of the room, Scott pulled out a pint of Baskin Robbin’s ice cream and handed it to Peter. He opened it up and started digging in.
“Hey, [Y/N]’s pretty terrific, isn't she?” he asked Scott.
“Oh, yea.”
“We’re engaged, ya know.”
“Yea, I heard about that too,” Scott said.
Peter started talking a bit of nonsense while they waited for the elevator. He started confessing several things and Scott asked him if he said any of it to you.
“No, that’s all in the past. I’m making a clean start with [Y/N]. She is... she is... what is she? She’s...” Peter said, starting to space out.
“I’d say that she gets under your skin as soon as you meet her. She drives you so nuts you don’t know whether to hug her or, or just really arm wrestle her. She would go all the way to Europe just to get a stamp in her passport. I don’t know if that amounts to insanity, or just being really, really… likable,” Scott said with a smile on his face.
Peter, still totally spaced out, said, “No. That’s not it. But she’s gotta be really special. She’s gotta be. And I could spend the rest of my life finding out why.”
And then Peter started rambling on about you. Scott couldn't take any more of hearing it, so he just walked away, leaving Peter waiting at the elevators. The nurse came over and handed Peter his box of things, which he was happy to see his shoes on top for some reason, and brought him to his new room.
You came back to the hospital and saw Saul outside and asked how the family took the news. He told you that he didn't tell them yet or Peter. You couldn't believe that Saul hadn't said a word to them yet. You knew that it was gonna be up to you to tell them. You went inside just when a blonde woman walked in the door as well. The two of you went into the elevator and went to different floors.
Ashely stormed into the room that they moved Peter into and closed the door.
“Ashely!” Peter said.
“Scumbag,” Ashley replied. “You’re engaged?” Peter nodded at this. “May I remind you that you proposed to me?”
“You said no. We broke up.”
Peter and Ashley started arguing about things and she wasn't taking any of it well at all.
“Fine. Go ahead and marry her, you one-balled bastard,” she told him and stormed out.
You went over to the room that Peter used to be in and the one nurse let you know that he had been moved to a new floor. She brought you to his room and he was happy to see you. He didn't let you get to talk much because he decided to propose to you. It came as such a shock but you said yes and then went home to try on your dress.
Scott came to your apartment while you were trying to see which shoes matched better with the dress. You asked your cat which one looked better and then came a knock on your door.
“Ugh! I don't want any flowers from you, I am NOT wearing black underwear and I definitely do not want to move in with you, T...” you said as you went to open the door and stopped yourself from finishing, seeing who was at the door. “Scott.”
“Well, I don't have any flowers, I wouldn't mind seeing the black underwear but under the circumstances I don't think we should move in together,” he said with a smile on his face.
You giggled a bit. “I thought you were Tony Jr..”
He sighed. “I get that a lot,” he said, which made you laugh a bit more.
You invited him in and he loved the wedding dress that you were going to be wearing for the ceremony.
“I just wanted to give you this before all the presents started to pile up,” he said, handing you a small newspaper wrapped gift. “I was dropping off some furniture in Little Italy, I look in the window and...”
You unwrapped it to see a beautiful snow globe of Florence. “Thank you,” you said. “It’s really beautiful.”
He started to head over towards the door. “And I wanted to say that I think Peter is a very lucky guy. I had to say that because you’re gonna be my sister-in-law.”
“Haha,” you said teasingly. “Guess we’ll be seeing a lot of each other than. But thank you.”
“I better get going,” Scott said and opened the door. He headed down the stairs but you called out to him and asked him something.
“Can you give me any reason why I shouldn't marry your brother?”
He looked at you, with those beautiful green eyes almost looking like they were shining from tears starting to form, but said, “I can't.” And he walked away, leaving you in tears.
You handed your boss your wedding invitation the next day and he was so confused.
“And whom are we marrying?” he asked you.
“Peter,” you answered.
“The coma guy?! Are you insane?”
“Yes, I’m insane. Everyday I go and I sit in a booth like a veal. I work every holiday. I go home to a cat. And now, a rich and handsome man has asked me to marry him and I have said yes. Ok? Ok, that makes me a raving, total lunatic.”
“The wedding is tomorrow, [Y/N].”
“I know it’s tomorrow, but ya now what? I even wish it were yesterday because that would mean that today I’d be on my honeymoon, that I’d finally have a stamp in my passport and that it would say Italy on it.”
Your boss looked at you, knowing that you were extremely frustrated about something. “What happened with the other guy?”
“He didn't want me,” you said trying very hard not to cry.
The next day came your wedding at the hospital. But you were running late and everyone was starting to get nervous.
Scott put Peter’s sport coat on him and Peter asked if it looked ridiculous.
“No, you look fine,” Scott said.
“You got the rings?” he asked.
“I got the rings,” Scott answered and pulled the ring box out of his pants pocket, handing it to Peter.
Scott sighed and looked at Peter. “You suck.”
“I suck or the outfit sucks?” Peter asked, clearly confused.
“It’s a toss up,” Scott mumbled.
You came into the room where the wedding was being held and the organ player started. You walked slowly down the isle but then stopped, took your jacket off and started again. You looked nervously at everyone and looked lastly at Scott, who looked like he wanted to say something but couldn't.
The priest started the ceremony, saying the first sentence but you immediately said, “I object.”
Scott stared at you wide-eyed and Saul couldn’t believe what he was hearing. The priest was confused since he hadn't got to that part yet.
“I would have to object too,” Scott said.
“And what about you?” the priest asked Peter.
“I’m thinking...” Peter stammered.
“What the hell is going on?” Ox asked.
You turned to look at the family and just couldn't take it any longer. They had to know the truth.
“I’m in love with your son,” you said.
“I know,” Ox responded.
“Not that one,” you said pointing to Peter. “That one.” And pointed at Scott.
“Scott? What the hell did you do?” Ox asked.
Scott stood there with the biggest smile on his face. You breathed a big sigh and just let the confession pour out of you at that moment.
“He didn't do anything. It was me. It was all me. Uh, Elsie? How you doing? You ok?” Elsie snapped a picture with her camera and smiled at you. “Um, do you remember that day at the hospital? Uh, of course you remember... there was a little mix up. I saw Peter get pushed onto the tracks and I saved his life but when I got to the hospital, they wouldn't let me see him so uh, someone told the doctor that I was his fiancee. Only, um...” and you took a deep breath, “it’s not true. I was never engaged to Peter.”
The family sat in stunned silence. Scott rubbed the back of his neck and his green eyes shone again with tears. “Why didn't you say something?” he whispered at you.
“Because I didn't know how to tell you,” you whispered back, tears starting to well in your eyes too.
You continued your story, looking at the family. “We didn't even meet until that day on the tracks. It was just when we were at the hospital and everything happened so fast. I couldn't tell you the truth and I didn't want to tell you the truth because the truth was that, um... I fell in love with you.”
“You fell in love with me?” Ox asked.
You giggled a bit. “No. I mean, yes. Yes, all of you. I went from being all alone to being a fiancee, a daughter, a grand-daughter, a sister and a friend.” You turned and looked at Peter. “I might've saved your life on the tracks that day but, you know what? You really saved mine. You allowed me to be a part of your family. And I haven't had that in a really long time.” A few tears started to roll down your cheeks. “And I just didn't want to let go of it.” You sighed. “So even though it was for just a little while, I will love them always.”
By this time, everybody was in tears. “I’m so sorry,” you said and started walking out.
Just then, Ashley came storming in with a man after her and said, “Peter is engaged to me. I object to this wedding.”
“Get in line,” the priest mumbled.
The man behind her said, “And I object to your objection.”
“Who’s that?” Mary asked.
“That is Ashley’s husband,” Peter said.
At that point, massive arguing broke out from everyone while Elsie went around taking pictures of all of it. You quietly slipped out and went back to your place, spending the night taking down your tree and putting the ornaments away.
The next day at work, was just like every other day. Until a diamond ring got dropped in your token tray. You grabbed it and looked up to see Scott and the family, minus Peter, at your window.
“[Y/N],” Scott said. You smiled at everyone and then looked at the ring. “I need to ask you a question.” He paused for a minute. “Can I come in there please?”
“I can’t,” you said, which almost made Scott’s heart break. “Not without a token.” And smiled at him. He deposited his token and you dinged the bell to let him through.
He came in the booth and looked at you with those beautiful green eyes. “Marry me?” he asked.
“Yes,” you whispered. “I love you.”
“I love you, back,” he said and kissed you passionately.
Soon the two of you got married and Scott took you to Florence for your honeymoon. He gave you what your father had always said you would find someday: someone who’d give you the world. Peter once asked you when it was that fell in love with Scott. And you told him, “it was while you were sleeping”.

To Paraphrase The “Leader” Of The Free World: Grab ‘em By The Junk
Or, my recap of Shameless Season H8 Episode 5
Fair warning: there will be speculation on some spoilers I’ve seen for future episodes, so if you avoid spoilers, turn back now.
I’m going to begin by telling you a story, a story about a guy who was in a fairly new relationship when he decided to run off with his true love for a few days, thereby ending what he had going with the new guy. He came back after three days and asked his now-ex out, but that guy already had another date lined up and turned him down flat. Months go by, and the guy keeps after his ex, asking him out time after time and getting shot down, showing up at his work, generally being a stalker, and finally the ex fucks another guy right in front of him to drive home the point that he’s just not interested. But that doesn’t stop the stalker from trying to get back with his ex. He keeps asking even more, gets turned down every time. On the day of the night in question, he even asks the ex if he wants to shower with him, and the ex turns him down, without looking turned on in the least. He’s not tempted, he’s not interested! Later they decide to get dinner together, and they get take out, and instead of eating it near or where they got it, the guy seems to bring the ex to a deserted, isolated place where he’s had sex before. He knows for a fact that no one will be around-even if his ex puts up a fight or starts to yell, no one will be around to break it up.
The ex finishes his food and tells the guy he’s going to leave. The guy says nothing. The ex says he wants to thank the guy for his “help” that day (even tho the guy didn’t do shit). The guy still says nothing, but walks up to the ex and starts kissing him, which quickly leads to him pushing him up against a fence, sticking his hand down his pants, and fingering/flicking/rubbing him till he orgasms.
Now, I ask you-does that seem romantic at all? Or does it sound like an open and shut case of sexual assault?
WTF was ANYONE thinking in letting that scene make it to air? The fact that Ian says NOTHING in the entire scene until after Terror comes made it even creepier than the abandoned waterfront and darkness all around atmosphere.
Ugh, this week’s episode was worse than ever. And as disconnected from the rest of the season as ever. Every week, everyone’s got new shit going on, most if not all their old shit forgotten. The only character the writers are owning it with is Frank-he’s gone thru his phases of flat out saying he’s in his 20s, 30s, and now this week his 40s. They have his character change a bit (altho ironically, he’s probably been the most consistent, even tho they’re trying to write him outrageously different in each installment), while everyone else is practically brand new every week.
This week Debbie sits in a bar bitching about how her mother was never there for her, and she won’t do that to her daughter, who at that very moment she is neglecting-wtf? She’s dropping her off with different people every week. This week they also rip off last week’s Fiona crap by having Franny’s (recast) baby daddy show up unexpectedly. I really hope he’s there to take custody of Franny and we can have less of Debbie the crappy teen mom, but I’m sure that’s too much to ask. Debs ends the episode by doing drugs while the baby’s strapped into a car seat and then Debbie waking up next to the long haired dude. Next week’s preview show her trying to get an older woman to buy her the morning after pill-um, Debbie has to be 18 to be in welding school in Illinois, I can’t imagine you have to be older than that to buy Plan B...
Carl has a junkie tied up in the basement who doesn’t die on him whilst going thru withdrawals-oh, that wacky Shameless! Carl also needs to make $12,000 because he lost his military school scholarship, and the idiot seems to think he’ll be able to do that working at Patsy’s Pies and using Fiona’s car all night to be a Uber driver...He’s too stupid to be in school, surely. By the end of the ep, his “cured” junkie shows up with his passed out girlfriend, wanting Carl to do the same for her, and he gives him $5000 for his own cure and says the girl’s parents will pay him $2500. I really hope someone fucking dies on him.
Lip suddenly and inexplicably has baby fever. I know there are fans who have always felt Lip wants to be a father, but I’ve never seen it. He only cared about Karen’s pregnancy because he thought it was a way to tie her to him when she wanted nothing to do with him. When he wanted to make that video to “his” kid I thought he was just being a shit to Mandy-Lip never once told Karen he’d raise the kid by himself. Anyway. Lip’s sponsor is having a hard time adjusting to fatherhood, but Lip holds his kid for a few minutes and now that’s what he wants? When he’s been told he can’t handle a romantic relationship till he’s been sober longer? He honestly thinks a kid would be easier? And while he’s working at two low wage jobs? On the bright side, it’s nice to see Ian’s not the only character they’ve run out of ideas for. Oh, and who the mother of Lip’s offspring may be they’re not really saying-Snore had one scene in the show with zero lines again. Why did they even keep her signed on to the show? Anyway, Lip’s sponsor slips and drives off drunk, and Prof. Youens (remember him? Neither does Lip, apparently) isn’t mentioned for another week. And I wish I knew what the show’s point is-you’d THINK seeing all his sponsors losing their sobriety again would be teaching Lip that recovery is a difficult thing you have to keep working at-or that he’d at least ask Carl to lock him in the cellar for a week or two...
Fiona and Nessa continue their contrived “friendship”. Fiona’s got a bug in her ass about a “junkie” church that’s bringing down her property value. The woman that owns Patsy’s owns the church, but she’s trying to unload it because it’s a big unmanageable, nonconvertible building.
Svetlana and Vee have sex a couple of times, I think. Didn’t pay close enough attention since it seems like that whole storyline is just them spinning their wheel and I never bought into the thrupple thing and is the point that Vee actually loves Svetlana-or that she’s like John Wells and digs woman on woman sex scenes? Kev’s sitting around talking like a redneck and playing the banjo. I mean, that could be making the case that Svetlana is the better spouse, but we know Kev and Vee will never split up because the show doesn’t have it in for them.
Meanwhile, Terror and Ian. Ian tells Carl on their morning run that he’s seeing Terror later to meet with a potential donor for the youth center, and that Terror is bringing Ian along for his “South Side cred”. Why...wouldn’t...Terror...bring...one...of...the..actual...youths? Later that same morning, Terror once again walks right into the EMT garage where they keep the trucks with tens of thousands of dollars of equipment in them without a problem. HE tells Ian that they’re meeting with a donor later that day-yeah, we already know this, why does Terror have to show up and tell a sweaty Ian this? Oh yeah, so Ian can hit on him when Terror tells him to be sure to shower-WHY IS TERROR ALWAYS TELLING IAN WHAT TO DO? Why does Ian put up with it? He fucking broke up with Mickey for telling him to take the pills that are saving his life, he bitched at Fiona whenever she told him what to do-why does he put up with it when that sniveling rodent tells him what to do? We also find out during their painful exchange that the church Ian saw on his run with Carl is already on Terror’s radar-Ian says he saw the church Terror told him about-so this doesn’t even fulfill Terror telling Ian last week that Ian finding a place for the teens would get him out of the doghouse. Anyway, Carl says something like, “Are you still trying to get in his pants?” and Ian, via Sheila Callaghan’s atrocious writing has Ian say Terror is the best person he knows.
Yes, because the people Ian would be meeting in his line of work-the first responders, the nurses, the doctors-they’re all pricks just working for the paycheck. But Terror is a goddamn saint, his salvation, his key to a happy, full life. But maybe I’m being to hard on Sheils, maybe what she meant Ian to say was, “Out of all the people that have just wanted me for sex, he’s the best one I know.”
Then Ian says Terror is “great in the sack” and that line is so unbelievable it’s a wonder lightning didn’t strike him dead. Sheila, you’re trying too hard to make it happen-it’s too late, no one’s gonna believe you now. Ian couldn’t run to Mickey fast enough in Season 7, Terror wasn’t enough to keep him home.
At the tea on the veranda, Ian is distracted trying to figure out why the older guy seems familiar. Later it hits him, and he tells Terror that guy was a “Friday night regular” who paid him for blowjobs at The Fairy Tail. So, now it’s canon that Terror DID know all about Ian’s retconned past as a teen prostitute, and what does THAT say about Terror, a person who works with at risk youth, telling Ian to have anonymous sex when he was upset? Oh, boy, don’t get me started! All Terror has to say upon hearing Ian used to blow this guy on the regular is that they should’ve asked for more money. The guy had agreed to give them ten grand-Terror had told him they could get a lease for $5000 down and $5000 for the first month’s rent (where they’d get money to keep paying the lease wasn’t brought up).
They go by the church and that’s when Terror asks Ian if he wants to get something to eat-Terror says he could go for some teriyaki beef (and I THINK that was supposed to be suggestive and sexy and funny-just like the unfunny thing he said about muffin tops that one time-how did this show once write for Mickey? Oh yeah, different writers plus a lot of improv from Noel, but I digress) and then it’s the godawful scene by the water which starts with Terror talking to Ian about his job like they’re on a first fucking date and shouldn’t this ground have been covered already between them? They’ve talked about Ian being a teen pony boy, but not about Terror’s dreams to put a roof over “at least three kids’ heads”? (and, really? he needed to drag Ian in to “help” him find a place for three kids-that’s his goal?)
The kiss scene was once again laughable with its lack of chemistry, plus the way Terror is panting with his open mouth right into Ian’s face, all I could think about was what did he just eat and wasn’t his breath gross, LMAO.
But what wasn’t laughable was the total lack of consent-seriously, after months and months of being told No, Ian had no right to do any of the physical stuff he did. It’s a shitty trope in fiction-and a dangerous one in real life-that someone is just “playing hard to get” and that the other obsessed party can do what they’re doing because it’s coming from a place of “love”. That’s not love. And sure Shameless had no way of knowing how quickly sexual assault was going to be taken more seriously in the world all of the sudden, but they have had time to do a quick replacement scene for what they showed. They clearly don’t see anything wrong with it-we were supposed to think it was this big romantic reunion. I really wonder if this scene was what Sheila got the “sounds rapey” note for-I wonder if Ian had dialogue they deleted because he sounded like what he basically has turned into-a persistent creep who wouldn’t take “no” for an answer.
Ian finally has a line when it’s over, I guess he says, “Record time”, like Terror was so horny for him after denying him all this time. It wasn’t hot, it wasn’t sexy, it wasn’t anything especially in comparison to the fucking fireworks display that Ian and Mickey’s reunion by that very same body of water was-when the hell is the show going to realize how much lamer they’re managing to make Terror look by always trying to insert him into scenarios we already saw play out with Mickey? And it’s literally the only line Cam has in the entire scene-even when Terror’s talking about his work, Ian’s just staring at him like he’s contemplating date rape.
Terror’s reply to “record time” was, “You caught me off guard”-but it should’ve been, “You took me against my will.”
Also, when Ian asks Terror if he wants to join him in the shower in the earlier scene, it isn’t hot at all, just pervy-I’m surprised they didn’t have Ian palming his dick while he asked. He had such a predatory vibe in his Terror scenes.
Anyway, the morning after the gross kiss scene, Ian comes down the backstairs at the Gallaghers and Terror is right on his heels like a little yippy dog. The camera gives us a quick close up of Fiona beaming that her little bro has a bf again who won’t set a match to his perfect life.
There’s a scene thrown in of him breaking into the church with the youth that looks like Terror and Geneva (the girl who got into his bed with him). This week, when Geneva goes to hug Ian because the church is going to be the perfect shelter (not really tho-even tho they keep referring to rooms in the back where “priests” lived-don’t churches usually only have the one priest-the majority of the building is a wide open space-what are they planning to do, just put a bunch of cots in there?)-anyway, instead of letting her hug him, Ian turns his shoulder and puts out his fist for a bump. Isn’t it wonderful that Terror is teaching him things like don’t put your hands on underage girls? Ian never could’ve figured that out for himself!
Then there’s yet another scene at the EMT garage-doesn’t Ian ever go out on rescues?-and Terror once again walks right in. Ian asks him if someone stole his lunch money which was the funniest scene in the episode because Terror has absolutely no expression on his face (or maybe it was hidden under his tremendous eyebrows). Ian only knows he was “upset” because the script said so.
Terror tells him that the owner of the church doesn’t want to lease it anymore. Ian tells him he should buy it. Terror says with what money-I think. It was so boring I wasn’t really paying attention.
Later that night, Ian goes to the house of the rich dude, with the intent to blackmail him into giving him money. The guy immediately calls his wife to the door (she’s even older than the old dude) and tells her Ian’s the redhead from The Fairy Tail. Using a stereotypical rich bitch accent, she tells Ian she hears he gives exquisite head and wonders if his talents extend to both genders and she’s willing to give him money to find out. Ian only asks for enough for a down payment on the church, again making me wonder what the fuck the plan is to keep making payments beyond that first month. Shameless was so prooud of Sheila’s great writing that they bestowed it with this: https://twitter.com/SHO_Shameless/status/938460539495243777
I made a post the other night saying I don’t believe that Ian actually went thru with having any type of sex with them-that would go against the company policy that their corporate mandated trans character is just so good for Ian and without him Ian would be the same loser they retconned him into when they didn’t sign Noel to another contract. So, we’ll see.
I’m actually hoping Ian did go thru with it, and that Terror breaks up with him again, and that’s why there’s that still of Ian lying on his little twin bed looking miserable with Fiona talking to him. Maybe their plan is to rip off the Mickey finding out Ian did porn for money scene. With this shitty show, anything is possible!
Ian shows up at the diner the next day in different clothes, so at some point between the old couple and the morning, he apparently went home at least-whether or not he’s seen Terror isn’t known to us. Anyway, Fiona’s with her boss and the two artists who are interested in the church. Ian walks right up to them and tries to hand Margot the check, and Ian and Fiona have a moment of realizing they’re both talking about the same place. So, here’s the thing I don’t get-why is the Shameless twitter account asking if people are Team Ian or Team Fiona? Fiona doesn’t really have a say in who GETS the building-she doesn’t own it. And since Margot does own other property in the area, I would think she’s going to choose the art gallery to further gentrify the neighborhood and improve her own property rates, but that she doesn’t give a flying fuck if that helps Fiona or not. So this doesn’t really seem to be an Ian vs Fiona thing. Also, once again, what happened to the bitch slapping South Siders we started watching this show for? How is having two siblings battling over a $200,000 piece of property anything most people can relate to? It’s so tedious that they’re so upscale now-are we supposed to think more money, more problems? Everything is so contrived and boring.
Anyway, Ian and Fi take it outside and Ian seems manic, but maybe it’s just Sheila’s shitty writing and Cam working really hard to get upset over an unrealistic plot point? But he’s right in Fiona’s face yelling about “his” kids (that he just started interacting with outside of his EMT duties LAST WEEK), and it was sort of like when he was insisting demons were trying to take “his” baby away from him when he ran off with Yevgeny. Fi says those kids aren’t much better than the junkies (I think-I didn’t take notes and in the end, nothing that happened this week will probably ever matter much) and says something about Geneva sleeping at their house and how she bit a guy’s dick off-what? I guess Cam needed to show us more of those script pages. Anyway, she tells Ian to “find another church”-I really didn’t get why she thought she had the upper hand. Shouldn’t homeless kids beat an art gallery no matter what she thinks she wants to charge for rent? I’ve seen a few reviews saying how this is such an excellent plot point to have the siblings battle over, and it’s just...not? It’s so made up and unbelievable and in the end won’t have any lasting consequences. Ian’s really going to be the new savior of homeless at risk youth? I somehow doubt it.
Anyway-some spoilery stuff: Since Ian winds up running his “Occupy Fiona” movement and chanting “Cuntlord” at her apartments, I think we can all guess the kids don’t wind up getting the church to use as a shelter. Also, Ian’s going to meet the Pray The Gay Away priest, so, what, now he’s just got it in his head that a church is the perfect place to convert into a shelter and goes out in search of another one? Fiona did tell him to find another church, so I guess new Ian does exactly what everyone else tells him to do?
I hope that whatever happens, Ian gets so involved with this cause that Terror breaks up with him because he’s not paying enough (as in “all of his”) attention to Terror. Or that Terror breaks up with him because of Ian prostituting himself out to the old couple-or even if he did just extort money from them (because that would probably make other would-be donors reluctant to pitch in). Hell, at this point I’d even welcome that Ian’s manic again-I’d love to see Terror not be able to deal and to just walk away because his life is hard enough already or whatever bullshit he (and the writers) would use to justify abandoning Ian when Mickey never did.
I was going to say that at least now I have a compelling reason to tune in next week-I want to see the fallout and Terror’s reaction to how Ian got that money-but then it hit me, next week’s episode will have been written by someone else so that might not even come up. What a mess.
#Recap#Season H8 Episode 5#TW rape mention#Ian with the towel over his head reminds me of Noel's post workout selfie he posted way back when#I'd like to think Cam did that as an homage ;)

BIOGRAPHY --
The history of the Callaghan Family was long, and glorious. It started with Ronan, his great-great grandfather. According to the stories passed down, Ronan was a righteous and prideful man. He loved the people he considered family fiercely, and fought for fair treatment for his Irish brothers. Through the generations, over a hundred years since he first stepped foot in New York City, he had become a legend of sorts. Sick of his lot in life, that of a disgraced immigrant forced to do back-breaking work for pennies, he gathered his brothers, his friends, and he created a force so powerful, it had yet to be stopped. His son, Angus, carried on his father’s legacy without hesitation. He too fought for his brothers, determined to bring them glory. He carried them through a war with the Five Families and brokered peace when the bloodshed came to an end. Those still kicking that knew him when he was alive could still be found reminiscing about the great and magnificent Angus Callaghan.
(The stories conveniently leave out the crime and murder of it all.)
Dominic Callaghan never knew those so-called amazingmen — but he did know his grandfather, Cassian Callaghan, who was a real dick. Though legend tells it that Cassian was once a great man, like those before him, he had become a rotten, evil old man who cared very little for those around him as individuals. Oh, he loved the family. He loved every last relative of his, but as a whole. A collective. He was bred, as all Callaghans were, to value family over everything else. Their family, after all, had gotten them this far. Now, family wasn’t just blood relatives, though they did take priority. Family consisted of those who were loyal, who would give their lives for their brothers. For the business. To be considered family? That was a goddamn honor. An honor Dominic damn sure didn’t want. Maybe, had he known the heroes of legend, he might feel differently, but his exposure to great Callaghan men wasn’t all together pleasant. There was his grandfather (Satan, as he liked to call him); his father, Murphy, who was almost but not quite as mean as dear old granddad; and his uncle, Keagan, who was a walking ego dressed up like a douchebag, an achievement given that he was edging in on his sixties. The murderous old hags, as he affectionately called his aunts Maire and Fiona, were almost as bad — but they came in an easier to swallow package, their brand of crazy less obvious. (That did not make them less dangerous, however; just more pleasant about it.)
When he was a boy, Dominic looked up to all of those people — and the mountain of distant relatives, cousins, and “family friends” that hung around. They were bold, powerful, and threw the best parties. On the surface, it all seemed rather glamorous. Diamonds, cigars, top shelf liquor; everything you could ever want at your fingertips. But it came at a price. something Nic didn’t learn until he was sitting in a prison cell, facing down three years of hard time. And it wasn’t just prison, wasn’t the legal consequences — but, he realized, it had cost him his soul. There was something dark in him. He was thirteen the first time he saw a man die. In his father’s defense, it wasn’t supposed to go down like that, but in life, things don’t always go as planned, do they? What started out as a meeting ended in a murder and little Dominic Callaghan was there to witness it through a cracked door. He watched the life drain out of a man’s eyes and, at the same time, his future died with him. His father’s associate, killed for ratting out another member, was taken through the back door. They didn’t speak of it for months until Murphy approached Nic and presented him with an opportunity — an opportunity to know everything.
It started then, at thirteen, his introduction as his father’s heir. That was always the plan, of course, but that was the beginning. There was no turning back. From that night on, Nic was in. He shadowed his father, like his father had done with his father before him, and learned the business from the inside out. He sat in on meetings, ran errands for associates, even spent a summer managing a pub that doubled as a storage facility for a dangerous amount of cocaine. Despite his age, people respected him. Crowds parted for him, no one dared speak a word against him. He could, quite literally, get away with murder. For a long time, longer than he wanted to admit, Nic let it go to his head. While there were members who had earned their status, who fought hard to cement their place in the family, all Dominic had done was be born the first son of the first son of the first son of the first son. A goddamn honor. That is, until a witness identified him “teaching a lesson” to a low life dealer who tried to run off with money that wasn’t his. Cassian tried to get him out of it, of course, but in a rare instance, the witness didn’t disappear before the case could go to trial. He was sentenced to five years for assault, possession, and intent to sell thanks to the half ounce of coke he had at his place when the cops arrested him. He was out in three, on good behavior, and returned to the family with celebrations in his honor. But, after all of the time to think about what he had done (and would likely have to continue to do), Dominic decided to take a step back.
That decision, of course, was not met with hugs and good luck to you. His father was furious, his grandfather even more so. His siblings likely thought him insane or sympathized, perhaps. Either way, no one spoke up his defense — but their “family over everything” motto kept them from lashing out at him. Yet another privilege. Were he someone else, someone not related by blood, he would’ve been dead before the week came to an end. Instead, he found himself working in a tattoo parlor in Brooklyn. He’d been doing tattoos on friends since he was sixteen, a hobby of his that he never thought would lead to a career. Somehow he managed to convince the owner to take him in as an apprentice five years ago. On rare occasions, he would stop in for birthday parties, or weddings, or the birth of a child, but he was the outcast when he did. No one wanted to give him too much attention, lest they face the wrath of Grandpa Satan, but he kept in touch with the important people, his siblings mainly.
A year ago, after severing ties with the family business, Dominic met her. It was love at fist sight, or so it seemed. He had never felt that way before, never wanted to have someone in his life so badly. Their romance was a whirlwind. Within just a few months, he was moving her into his loft in Downtown, creating room for her in every aspect of his life. Unbeknownst to him, however, their relationship wasn’t as “fateful” as it seemed to be. Everything, right down to him spilling coffee on her in front of the tattoo parlor where he worked, was orchestrated. He had been targeted by the FBI — someone with a record and sway with the family, who was far enough outside that he wouldn’t be as suspicious as the others. Two months ago in front of his friends and the family, he asked her to marry him and she said yes. The engagement, fast as it was, granted her the access she desperately needed.
There was nothing like getting married to send the prodigal son running back to his family’s waiting arms.
Behind his back, his fiance is building a case not only on his family but on him. Should he find out who she really is and what she’s doing, he’s screwed. Because the government will put him away for the rest of his life. That is ifhis grandfather or one of his equally as murderous relatives doesn’t kill him first. One day, soon, Nic is going to learn that you really can’t trust anyone; and that family is really fucking overrated.
PERSONALITY --
( + ) courageous, extroverted, loyal. ( - ) irresponsible, reckless, sarcastic.

↪ BIOGRAPHY
The perfect stranger – that’s what Ian liked to call himself. He was the kid who stayed in the back, quiet and would just watch everything unfold. From the back of the room he could, observe, see what people did when they thought no one was looking. And that’s what he liked: learning about people. How they really acted when the cameras were off, so to speak, and when nobody was around to see. He saw the way any of his four older brothers acted with their friends: like assholes, but that was usual for the Callahan boys. He saw the way his father acted around his mother, during one of the rare moments he was actually home: like an asshole, but that was to be expected from the man who had two families. And because he was always in the back, nobody saw him and as a result, he was hardly ever noticed, even if he was doing something he definitely should not have been doing. Which he was often doing; but he wasn’t invincible, for as much as he liked to think so and he got into his fair share of stupid trouble as a teenager. Which, growing up in an admittedly rough area of Brooklyn, was probably a little more than his fair share. Aside from that and all the fights with his brothers, which was typical for a bunch of boys all under one roof, and aside from his dad leaving when he was ten, he had a relatively normal childhood. His mom did the best she could on her own with five kids for a couple of years, until she remarried and they struggled a little less. When he wasn’t doing stupid things and getting in trouble, he transferred that love of learning into his schoolwork. Though he didn’t necessarily like sitting in school for hours on end, he did well. He was a bit like a sponge and soaked up all the information he possibly could and he had a knack for remembering all the little dates and details that seemed insignificant.
In his junior year of high school, when he was seventeen, Ian started to date a girl named Annie, a pretty blonde girl a grade above him. He felt on top of the world, completely thrilled that the attractive senior that he’d had a crush on for the last few years had taken an interest in him. They had a lot in common: they were both athletes, with her playing basketball and him playing baseball; they both cheered for the Yankees, which in Ian’s book was hugely important; and they had similar, though not often the same, interest in movies and music. And whatever they didn’t agree on, they tolerated and supported the others interest in. Annie was a lot of Ian’s firsts: his first kiss, first real relationship, the first person he slept with, the first person he fell in love with. She was sweet, she was caring, she was loving. For a time. Not a very long time, but for a time.
They dated through most of Ian’s junior year and through that summer; but during that summer, something changed. He didn’t know what had changed, but all he knew was that the sweet, caring girl he’d come to know was completely gone. Ian had done something wrong, something that Annie didn’t like, and while he was trying to apologize, she had slapped him. It was only once at that point, but that set the tone for the rest of their relationship. He went back to school as a senior a much less out-going, less friendly version of the boy he was the year before. He was still doing decently in his classes, mostly because no amount of abuse was going to make him forget all the trivial little information that he learned. But he slowly started to drop his extracurriculars. Any clubs, any lessons, any whatever, he stopped showing up to, until finally he had been forced to quit his baseball team, which was a harder task to do than he thought it would be. But Annie didn’t approve of him spending his time at baseball practice and so he didn’t.
Steadily, things got progressively worse between him and Annie, as they always do in abusive relationships. Even though he managed to graduate high school with as little fanfare of possible, the event didn’t bring as much joy or excitement as it probably should’ve. Instead of preparing to go to college, which he had very much wanted to do, Ian was trapped in a relationship that he couldn’t escape from. The violence got worse and more frequent, he was cut off from family and friends and anyone who might’ve once cared and she demanded he ask for permission to go anywhere, do anything without her. That permission was frequently denied and he was too scared of repercussions to disobey. He never got a job, at least not one that he managed to keep for any decent length of time, he never saw his mother, he never did anything, ever, really.
The final straw for Ian was their son. He wasn’t even twenty-one, having been in this horrible relationship for close to four years and suddenly he found out that this person he was afraid of, this person that he never willingly had sex with, was pregnant. It was a child Ian was apprehensive about having, because if she would treat him the way she did, he could only imagine what she might do to a child. So, he had a plan: when the kid was born, Ian would take him and run. Maybe it wouldn’t be fair, but he could save the both of them from the kind of life he’d been living. No baby deserved that. There were a lot of problems throughout the pregnancy, and the little boy, Lucas, was born about three months early. Ian stayed by the boy’s side for weeks while he was in the hospital, not sure if he even wanted the baby to survive, not sure if he could take care of a kid on his own. But the little boy recovered, and as soon as he was well enough to leave the hospital, Ian took him.
New York was a big enough city to hide him for a years. He never stayed in one place for too long and had a lot of trouble keeping and holding jobs and struggling through his first few semesters of college classes. He was lucky enough that his good high school grades had gotten him into Columbia, probably only just barely, but he underestimated how hard it was going to be to raise a child on his own. He struggled, barely had enough to make ends meet, and worked so many odd and ridiculous jobs just to get food on the table. He did everything from wait tables to serve drinks to take off his clothes in really seedy looking strip clubs. It probably didn’t help that he kept moving boroughs every half a year, to prevent Annie from finding them if she were looking. Somehow he managed, he didn’t know how, but he did, and he graduated reasonably high up in his class with his degree in political science. With his son now four and with him slightly more competent as a parent, he enrolled in Columbia’s Law School, figuring that he finally had a chance to do something with his life. Even though he never truly felt free of Annie and he continued to move around, he actually had some kind of room to start living his life.
Once he graduated law school and took his bar exam, he kind of worked up the lawyer ranks, in a way, eventually getting himself into the Queens district attorney’s office when he was thirty. He technically worked under a more experienced prosecutor while he was learning and didn’t actually try cases himself, but he kind of loved being in a courtroom. It was a little bit of a thrill, putting away criminals and people that seriously deserved to be in prison.
And, of course, there was that demon in his life that should probably also be in prison; while he was out having some drinks one night with a few of the other assistant district attorneys, Annie had showed up at the bar. Ian had gotten complacent and hadn’t moved in about a year and that’s how she’d caught up with him. With her, he was just a scared little boy, and he let her take him out of the bar, into the secluded parking lot. She demanded he tell her where Lucas was and when he refused, she did what she did best and she tried to use violence to get it out of him. Even though he refused to tell her, and some passersby scared her away, Ian still figured it was best to get as far away from the city as possible. He didn’t want to leave his mom, but he didn’t want to introduce his son to the woman who was basically haunting all of his dreams. So, he packed up and moved again, this time out to California, mostly because that was the first place he could think of and partly because one of his brothers lived out there. On a good word from Queens, he started working the DA’s office in San Francisco, where he actually regularly tried cases and started build more of a life, for him and for his son, far away from the person who was trying to ruin his life.
For the first time in a long time, maybe in his entire life, Ian is actually, kind of enjoying his life. He has a fantastic kid, who, despite his disability, almost always has a smile on his face, who’s smart and athletic and definitely the kind of kid any parent would be proud of. He’s started to work out the issues he’s had the last few years of his life and though it doesn’t always go well and he has his bad days – his really bad days – his mental health is getting better, thanks to the medications that basically keep him sane. There’s not so much a peace in his life, but there’s a calmness, one he’d never had before.

↪ PERSONALITY
For as much as he tries to be the friendly, out-going person that he used to be, and he really does try, it never feels genuine; he just isn’t that kind of person anymore. He’s more withdrawn, timid, shy even, which seems ridiculous, because he feels like he’s old enough now to be past that shy stage. But his life experiences changed the way he looked at the world and at the people in it. He doesn’t trust easily, if at all, mostly because he’s just trying to protect himself, and his son, from going through anything like he’d been through again. Which is part of the reason why he throws himself so much into his work; he feels like he’s doing something good in the world by putting away criminals and keeping dangerous or potentially dangerous people off the streets. He has a confidence, or a cockiness, in a courtroom that he’s tried for years to be able to bring into his actual life, to no success. But he wants to be the kind of person that people can come to and trust, even if he doesn’t so much trust himself.

Nurse Wipes Newborns Blood Off His Face, Then Dad Spots His Strange Birthmark
Every baby who comes into this world is a unique blessing.
After all, no two people are alike, and the fact that we’re all different is part of what makes humankind so wonderful!
But some little ones are just a tiny bitmoredifferent, like we saw with thissweet tot with a distinctive pattern of polkadot birthmarks.
There will always be bullies who make fun of people for being even the slightest bit outside of the status quo, but fortunately, there are also lots of lovely people who know how to recognize a blessing when they see one.
That’s certainly the case for the family and friends of Cinar Engin, a little guy born in Ankara, Turkey, to lots of fanfare and acclaim.
He was famous right from the start, because little Cinar has a dramatic birthmark on his forehead that has earned him the nickname “the Love Baby.”

Tiny baby Cinar was born in late 2015 to parents Ceyda and Murat.
He was born in the delivery wing at a city hospital in Ankara, the capital of Turkey.
Right away, his parents noticed something different about him.
Caters
As his father explained to Caters News, “After a nurse cleaned the blood off his head, I was the first tosee the birthmark on his head.”
He added, “I was really surprised. When I came too close his head, I realized that it was an amazing heart. It was difficult for me to hold back my tears.”
GoFundMe
In some ways, Cinar’s story reminds us of little Matilda Callaghan, who was born with a mask of polkadot birthmarks.
Matilda is lucky enough to have parents who see her distinctive features as part of a beautiful whole, rather than as a disfigurement.
Cinar is similarly fortunate, with parents who absolutely dote on their little one.
Caters
In fact, Ceyda and Murat like to think of the birthmark as a blessing after all, a birthmark is just a spot where an angel kissed you!
The Engins called the sweet birthmark a “gift from God,” and will teach their little boy to cherish the things that make him special.
Caters
In fact, almost everyone Cinar meets seems to have a similar reaction to his beautiful “love” mark.
The nurses in the delivery room immediately started calling him the “Love Baby” as soon as he was delivered.
Some of them even took the opportunity to snap a selfie with the “blessed” little boy.
Caters
Now, Cinar is just over a year old, and his birthmark doesn’t show any signs of fading.
Instead, the unmistakeable heart shape sits proudly over his eyebrow, marking him as the adorable “Love Baby” he is.
Who knows, maybe it’s a sign and he’ll grow up to be the Mr. Rogers of his generation!
